Installation
Installing hardwood starts below the boards: we remove the old flooring, check and level the subfloor, and fix squeaks and soft spots before the first plank goes down. Then we install solid or engineered hardwood in the species, width and pattern that suit your home – from classic site-finished oak to wide-plank and herringbone floors.
In renovations we weave new boards into existing floors so rooms flow together without thresholds or color changes, and we plan transitions to tile and stairs as carefully as the floor itself.
Refinishing
Many older Birmingham homes hide heart pine or oak floors under carpet or worn finish. Refinishing sands away the top layer, removes the damage, and seals the wood with a stain and finish of your choice. The result is a floor that looks new while keeping the character only original wood has.
What affects the cost
The species and thickness of the wood, the condition of the subfloor, how much demolition is needed and the finish you choose. After a visit we give you a clear price per room or for the whole house, and a schedule that keeps the rest of the project moving.
