Choosing the material
- Quartz: engineered, non-porous and very low maintenance – a favorite for busy kitchens.
- Granite: natural stone, very durable and heat resistant, in countless patterns.
- Marble: timeless and beautiful; softer and more porous, it develops a patina over time.
- Quartzite: natural stone with the look of marble and the hardness of granite.
- Wood and butcher block: warm accents for islands and work areas.
Practical questions
How do you cook and clean? Different materials react differently to acids, heat and cleaning products. Do you want a thick mitered edge or a slim modern profile? Where will the seams fall on a long island? We walk through these questions with you and visit the stone yard together if you like.
Installed as part of the kitchen
We coordinate templating, fabrication and installation with the cabinets, sinks, faucets and backsplash so the countertop arrives once and fits perfectly – and the rest of the kitchen stays on schedule.
